Spec Recruitment are partnering with Mencap and we are recruiting for a self-motivated and proactive volunteer to work on a completely flexible basis as an Administration and Marketing Volunteer (from home!)

 

Location: Remote with support by phone, email or Skype
Weekly hours: Flexible, from 1 hour per week +
Duration of commitment: Flexible (6 weeks plus)

 

This is a very flexible role and it will be up to you when you do your volunteering.
Independent tasks can be done at any time, but you will be asked to be available for occasional events – (you will be given plenty of notice!).

 

Duties can include:
• Researching opportunities to promote volunteer roles, both online and in physical locations
• Championing Mencap online by using social media and in the local area by attending events
• Putting up posters in your local area to advertise events and other activities
• Attending local Mencap events to lend a hand, talk to people and take marketing photos
• Other tasks as agreed with your volunteer manager

You need to be motivated to work on your own to complete tasks agreed between you and you volunteer manager.

It would also be helpful to be:
• Friendly and approachable
• Able to use your initiative
• Willing to volunteer within guidelines

We are looking for volunteers to support our client’s Supported Internship Programme in Bristol.
Our client delivers relaxed classroom-based sessions to young people with learning disabilities, aged between 16 and 25, to prepare them for work, and support them to improve their numeracy and literacy skills.

Along with charity staff and other volunteers, you will be supporting people on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.

The sessions run weekly at the Vassell Centre in Bristol and you will need to be available from 9am to 5pm (6 hours on either Tuesday or Wednesday each week).

Skills Required:
• Friendly and approachable
• Reliable and patient
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to provide encouragement and support
• Able to establish and maintain professional boundaries
